CANTON, N.Y. – The Union College track and field teams competed at the Liberty League Championships Saturday on the campus of St. Lawrence. The men's team finished third in the meet while the women's team finished fourth.
Rensselaer successfully defended its team title, defeating the host Saints in the final event.
Davis Barber highlighted the meet for the Dutchmen by finishing second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.99. In the women's pole vault,
Judy Horan (2.78m) and
Jessica Singer (2.48) finished third and fourth, respectively, to highlight the meet for the Dutchwomen.
Other notable finishes for the Dutchmen include
Ryan Owen and
Phil Lambert finishing fourth and sixth, respectively, in the 55 meter dash. Owen recorded a time of 6.79 while Lambert turned in 6.87. In addition, Lambert (8.23) finished fifth in the 55 meter hurdles.
Other notable finishes for the Dutchwomen include
Rebecca Skudder finishing fourth in the one mile run with a time of 5:28.91.
Ramsey Steiner also finished sixth in the event with a mark of 5:32.31.
Bethany Crowe (9.68) finished sixth in the women's 55 hurdles.
Union returns to action on Feb. 21 for the NYSCTC Pent meet on the campus of Cornell.
