SCHENECTADY, NY -- For the fourth time this season, Union College senior guard Joey Lokitis has received a Liberty League weekly award. He was named the Liberty League Co-Guard of the Week for games through February 13. He shares the honor with Gerard O'Shea of Skidmore.

For his Senior Day, Lokitis scored 20 points with six rebounds, three steals and three blocks in all 40 minutes to keep Union in first place with a home win over RPI. In the two games for the weekend, Lokitis had 42 points, 11 rebounds, seven steals, and seven assists in 79 minutes. He is third in the league in scoring with an average of 15.7 points per game.

This is the third time in four weeks that Lokitis won the honor. He has scored 66 points in his last three games and has an active streak of nine straight games in double figures. In his last nine games, Lokitis is averaging 18.0 points and the Dutchmen are 7-2 in that span. Entering this weekend, Lokitis has 991 career points, leaving him just nine points shy of becoming the 17th player in Union men's basketball history to record 1,000 career points.

Union is 8-4 and tied with Skidmore and St. Lawrence for first place in the Liberty League. Each team has two games remaining, and the Dutchmen need one win to clinch a post-season berth. The four-team Liberty League Championships will be held February 26 and 27 at the highest seed. The Dutchmen (12-10 overall) are at Clarkson Friday night at 8 p.m. and finish the regular season Saturday at St. Lawrence at 4 p.m.
