NORTHAMPTON, Mass. – The Union College track & field team competed at the Smith Invitational on Saturday.
Kyle Bucklin highlighted the Dutchmen by winning the men's long jump.
Jessica Singer highlighted the Dutchwomen by finishing fourth in the pole vault.
Bucklin reached a distance of 6.47m to win the long jump event. Cobleskill's Tomas Velasquez finished second with a distance of 6.47. Singer reached 2.60m in her fourth place win in the pole vault.
Other notable finishes for the Dutchmen,
Thomas Albano finished second in the pole vault, reaching 4.10m.
Davis Barber finished third in the 400 meter dash, turning in a time of 51.28.
Danton Brewington finished fourth in the shot put, reaching 13.09m.
Dearon Panossian (1:59.88) finished fifth in the 800 meter run.
On the Dutchwomen's side,
Rebecca Skudder (5:29.23) finished fifth in the one mile run.
Judy Horan finished ninth twice, in the 55 meter dash (7.94) and the 200 meter dash (28.58).
Skudder (11:13.372) and
Ramsey Steiner (11:14.531) finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 3,000 meter run.
Both the Dutchmen and Dutchwomen return to action next Saturday for the Liberty League Championships at St. Lawrence.
