SCHENECTADY, N.Y. – Volleyball freshman Carissa Vazzana and men's basketball sophomore Henry Stevens visited the William Keane Elementary School on Wednesday.

Both student-athletes participated in two of the school's events, the celebration of Dr. Seuss' birthday and 'Read Across America.' Vazzana and Stevens read to elementary school students and explained their experiences as a student-athlete in college.

In its 13th year, the "Read Across America" project is desgined to inspir students toward a love of reading, and to promote literacy skills. The Union students were introduced to the children during the assembly at school.
