But Robert Dufort's drive over traffic was high over the left post.

Senior Nick Hoberman almost made it 2-0 when his drive from inside midfield found its way through traffic, but Cazenovia keeper Riley Battaglini dove to his right for the stop.

Union took a 2-0 lead later in the first half. Tim Pryor passed in front to Nick Vozzella, who turned around in traffic midway in front of the net and tucked in his first of the new season with just 7:32 remaining in the half.

Union hosts Worcester State Saturday night at 6 p.m. while Cazenovia takes on RPI Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
