SAAC Meeting Minutes:
SAAC Opening Discussion- Baseball
Baseball talked about the online raffle fundraising they are doing to put towards their Spring Break expenses. They also are starting their season in 3 days, no concerns/issues brought up.
A) Brian Scarlett talked about Haiti projects: broke up into groups to talk about ideas that SAAC could contribute. Ideas included:
Care packages by team
Collecting donations at the door at athletic contests
Running/Swimming to Haiti- getting donations for every mile Union athletes run/swim/skate to Haiti on treadmills/at practice. RUN TO HAITI- Chelsea Charette figured out it is around 2200 miles.
Dining services: getting $1 from declining to donate and/or asking to have deserts removed from West and Upper for 1 week and using those funds to donate
Pinch Hit for Haiti
3v3 baseketball tournament or some kind of game with a registration fee to use donations
B) Dodge-Ball Tournament Discussion:
Worked out issues on team rosters, gave out brackets for the single game elimination, answered all questions on the topic
C)Valentine’s Day SAAC Event with local students: February 5. 3:30- 5pm. Broke up into small groups to each contribute an idea for the event. Ideas included: cookie decorating, goodie bags, taking a group picture, getting signatures from coaches/athletic trainers, autographed poster and visit in women’s ice hockey locker room, human not in men’s lacrosse locker room, signing/decorating volleyball, basketball shooting in viniar, valentines day cards
