Tod played from 1979-80 through 1982-83. He is second all-time in men’s ice hockey career points with 167 points, and was the all-time leader until 1991. He is also second in career assists with 102. Tod was a two-time captain, and an ECAC First Team selection in 1982-83 and ECAC Second Team pick and team MVP in 1981-82. Tod was a key member of the program during a transitional period, (in the season prior to his arrival, Union was 5-21). In his freshman season Union won 12 games. He was the program’s top offensive player at that time, thus was covered and checked more then others. Tod played baseball for three years and was a third baseman for the Dutchmen. He is a member of the Saranac Lake Athletic Hall of Fame.
