SCHENECTADY, NY -- Union freshman Lauren Winchell was named the Liberty League Field Hockey Rookie of the Week after her performances in games through September 27. 

Winchell scored two goals on three shots in a September 26 win over Vassar. She also scored the game winner for Union, and now has four goals in her freshman season, which ties for the team lead. Union is 5-3 overall and 2-1 in the Liberty League. 

The Dutchwomen return to action on Tuesday, October 6. Union will host Middlebury at Frank Bailey Field at 7 p.m. (the game was originally scheduled for 6 p.m.).
