Jansen Rookie of the Year; Three Make All-Liberty League First Team

Sebastiaan Jansen was named Liberty League Rookie of the Year
 
ALBANY, NY – Union College men's soccer freshman forward Sebastiaan Jansen has been named the Liberty League Rookie of the Year and joins senior midfielder Ryan Banagan and senior defender Brendan Steiner on the All-Liberty League First Team, the conference announced Thursday. The trio has helped the Dutchmen earn a spot into the league's title game which will take place on Saturday, Nov. 7 at 1:30 p.m. at Hobart.
 
Jansen ranks fourth in the conference for points with 18 and tied for eight for goals with six. He is Union's leading scorer, helping the Dutchmen to a conference-best 45 goals. He has produced at least one point in eight games and has registered a career-high four points twice.
 
Banagan is second on the team with 16 points and is tied for the team-lead with six goals, including a game-winner. He has been named Liberty League Performer of the Week twice.
 
Steiner, a two-time first-team selection, has led a Union backline that has posted a 0.90 goals-against average (the fourth best in the league). His abilities aren't limited to the defensive end, as Steiner has provided offense with three goals (two of them during league play, and 37 shots.
