CHERRY HILL, NJ -- The Union Men's and Women's Crew Frosh Eights advanced to the Petite Finals in the ECAC National Invitational Rowing Championships before the regatta was ultimately suspended due to high winds. The Men's eight of Marc Ginsberg, Paul-Etienne Coisne, Stephen Dusel, Mike Dewolfe, Ken Reiser, Juan Rijfkogel, Tyler Kelly, Vishnu Gollakota and Chris Hart defeated the University of Cincinnati to advance to the next round of racing while the Women's eight defeated both Mt. Holyoke and William Smith to advance. The Women's Crew of Rebecca Weinstein, Alethea Schepperly, Erin Villeneuve, Anna Scribner, Cassie Angelakis, Amanda Wald, Anne Terkovich, Chelsea Curtis and Liz Adami narrowly lost to Smith College for a spot in the Grand Final. The margin was 1 second. Both Varsity Crews were unable to race due to worsening and unsafe conditions. Frosh coxwains Marc Ginsberg and Rebecca Weinstein handled the high winds and choppy water with remarkable skill and poise.
