POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – The Union College track & field team competed at the Liberty League Championships on Saturday. The Dutchmen finished third at the meet while the Dutchwomen finished fourth. Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute swept the meet to win the two championships.

#Danton Brewington# highlighted the Dutchmen by earning two top five finishes which includes a win in the shot put (12.64m). #Peter Haviland-Eduah# also finished fifth in the event (11.17m). In the hammer throw, Brewington finished fourth (32.68m). #Davis Barber# finish second in the 400 meter dash (50.94) and #John Peters# also finished second in the discuss throw (39.23).

#Alex Coppola# finished third in the triple jump (12.63m) and #Gabe Sturges# finished fourth int eh 5,000 meter run (15:45.63). #Connor Gagliardi# and #Ryan Owen# finished fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplecase (10:29.31) and in the 100 meter dash (11.49), respectively.

#Bethany Crowe# and #Judy Horan# both highlighted the Dutchwomen by earning multiple top five finishes. She finished fourth in the 100 meter hurdles (16.52) and in the 400 meter hurdles (1:07.47). Horan finished third in the 100 meter dash (13.54) and in the 200 meter dash (28.09) and second in the pole vault (2.75m). In addition #Jessica Singer# finished third in the pole vault (2.75).

#Jessica Sherrod# finished fifth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase and #Rebecca Skudder# finished fifth in the 1,500 meter run (4:59.86).

Both the Dutchmen and Dutchwomen return to action on April 24 when they will travel across town to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for the Capital District Classic. The meet is schedule to start at 11 a.m.
