SCHENECTADY, NY - Junior forward
Lauren McCormick was named the 2009-10 Union College women's basketball Most Valuable Player at the team's banquet. The event was held Saturday night at the historic Hale House on the Union campus.
Also awarded the Team Rebounding Award, McCormick averaged 13.7 points per game and a team-leading 7.3 rebounds per game in 23 games for the Dutchwomen. As a member of thye second team All-Liberty League, she shot 43.2% from the floor and 63.8% from the line with 22 steals, 25 assists and 18 blocked shots. McCormick was named Liberty League Forward of the Week twice this season.

Megan Clark, each spoke about their experiences before the season highlight video was presented.
The 2009-10 Most Improved Player honor went to Clark and junior forward
Allie Sirrine. Clark played 24 games and averaged 10.3 points per game and lead the Dutchwomen in steals with 31. In 10 games played, Sirrine averaged 0.6 in rebounds and 0.8 in points.
Junior guard
Leah Pepe earned the William Lockyer Community Service Award for her participation off the court. Pepe was active in coordinating the Minerva Games on campus, that links elementary schools with Union students in athletic and academic events. She spent a weekend in Speculator with Camp Erin, a camp for grieving children, and she participated in the bereavement training. She helped with the American Cancer Relay for Life and is also on the NCAA Revision Committee.
