Kovack, Cervini selected ECAC Division III Upstate Softball First Team All-Stars

Senior third baseman Ashley Kovack
CAPE COD, Mass. – Union College third baseman Ashley Kovack and catcher Nina Cervini were both selected 2010 ECAC Division III Upstate Softball First Team All-Stars.

Kovack, a senior, played 40 games this season. She led the team in batting average (.400) and home runs (five). Her She also led the team in assists with 84. Her batting average was third best in the Liberty League. Kovack was named the ECAC Tournament's

Sophomore Catcher Nina Cervini
Co-Most Outstanding Player with teammate Tiffany Ippoliti. The duo helped guide the Dutchwomen to their fourth consecutive ECAC Tournament title.

Cervini, a sophomore, batted .342 and led both the Dutchwomen and in the Liberty League in doubles (14) and RBI (42). Cervini's biggest highlight on the season was hitting a three-run walk-off home run to defeat Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute 6-5 en route bringing the first-ever Liberty League Tournament title. She and Ippoliti were named Co-Most Valuable Players of the tournament.

Union finished the season 32-8 on the year and also clinched the Liberty League Regular Season title.
