Union College Athletics

Matt Kavanagh, a native of Newburgh, NY, is entering his first season as an assistant coach for the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving team.

 

A 2006 graduate of The College of Saint Rose, Kavanagh was a five-time NCAA Division II All-American swimmer. He was named the Northeast-10 Conference Swimmer of the Year in 2006. Kavanagh currently owns 6 individual school records and is part of 5 school-record setting relay teams. He was the only swimmer to ever represent Saint Rose at the NCAA Championships and was named Swimmer of the Meet at their conference championships at Rutgers University.

 

In May of 2008, he received a Master’s Degree in Business Administration at Saint Rose. While attaining his degree, he was the assistant swim coach for the Delmar Dolfins Swim Club in Bethlehem, NY. He was a Dean’s List student at Saint Rose and was named to the Northeast-10 All-Academic Team during the 2005-06 season.
