ALBANY, N.Y. – Freshman forward
Emma Rambo was selected ECAC Hockey Rookie of the Week, the conference announced on Monday.
In her collegiate debut, the Joliet, Ill. native scored her first goal 2:15 into the third period. It was also the first goal of the season for the Dutchwomen. Throughout the game, Rambo also made four shots throughout the game.
Rambo joined Union after becoming the first and only female to earn a varsity letter at the Joliet Catholic Academy boy's hockey team, which he earned as a freshman. She also helped lead the Chicago Mission to the U-19 Championship in 2008 and a second place finish at the same event in 2009.
It is the first Rookie of the Year honor for Union since sophomore
Emilie Arseneault. She received the honor on Oct. 13, 2008.
The Dutchwomen (0-1-0) will face Vermont for two matches this weekend, beginning Friday at 7 p.m.
