Facts about the game
  • Union has now played in the only two, five-overtime games in NCAA men's history. Before the Union-Quinnipiac game, Union and Yale held the record for longest men's game at 141:35 on Mar. 4, 2006.

  • Union lost both games 3-2 to schools in Connecticut. Quinnipiac and Yale are separated by approximately 10 miles.

  • Referee Derek Wahl was an official for the Union-Quinnipiac game. He was also a linesman for the Union-Yale contest.

  • Union set a school and ECAC Hockey tournament record for shots on goal with 75. The previous record holder was Colgate with 70 against Dartmouth on Mar. 14, 2003 (4OT).

  • The Dutchmen's 75 shots tied for sixth all-time in ECAC Hockey history with Cornell against Colgate on Jan. 26, 1971.

Clarke's 72 saves are also a Quinnipiac single-game record, passing Justin Eddy's 58 saves on Nov. 3, 2000.
