Troy Grosenick earns ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors

Sophomore goaltender Troy Grosenick earned ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors.

SCHENECTADY, NY - Sophomore goaltender Troy Grosenick earned ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Week honors, the conference announced on Tuesday. The ECAC Hockey weekly award is Grosenick's first in his collegiate career.

Grosenick picked up the first shutout of his collegiate career in a 5-0 win against RIT Saturday night, stopping all 23 shots, including two breakaway saves in the third period. In four starts, Grosenick is 2-0-2 with a 1.44 goals-against average (ninth in the nation) and a .941 save percentage (10th in the nation).

Grosenick and the Dutchmen will take on New Hampshire for the first time since Oct. 31, 2003 on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. in Durham, NH before returning to Messa Rink take on American International College at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday night the Dutchmen will honor the 2010-11 season with a Cleary Cup and NCAA Tournament banner ceremony before the game.
