M&T Bank Center

Hockey Ticket/Venue Information

The Union College men's and women's hockey teams began a new era in their new home, the M&T Bank Center in 2025-26. The city of Schenectady broke ground for the arena on May 13, 2024.

Located a short walk from campus across Erie Boulevard at Mohawk Harbor, the $50 million project features a 2,200-seat ice hockey rink with capacity expanding to 3,600 for other sporting events, trade shows, special events and conventions. The nearly 100,000-square-foot arena is located near hotels, restaurants and other retail establishments, making it more inviting for fans and visiting teams.

The new facility provides many of the amenities needed for and expected by both current and potential student-athletes at the Division I level. Student-athletes enjoy upgraded locker rooms and lounges for both teams as well as dedicated strength and conditioning and athletic training spaces.

The new facility offers expanded concession options as well as suites and a private hospitality area from which fans can enjoy the action on the ice. In addition, the building houses a Union Athletics spirit shop for all the latest Union hockey gear.

The Union College women's hockey team played the first official NCAA hockey game at M&T Bank Center on Sept. 26, 2025, defeating Franklin Pierce 3-0. Maddie Leaney scored the first collegiate goal inside the arena on the power play, assisted by Klara Kenttala and Stephanie Bourque '26 at the 12:05 mark of the second period.Â
