ROCHESTER, N.Y. (Oct. 29, 2005) -- Visiting Union built a 3-0 first-half lead Saturday and the Dutchwomen went on to take a 4-2 women's soccer victory over Nazareth at Golden Flyer Stadium. TUnion is 14-1-2 overall and plays at St. John Fisher Sunday. The Golden Flyers fell to 10-6-1. Union got first-half goals from Cassandra Mariani (Boonton, NJ), Erika Eisenhut (Mohawk, NY) and Caitlin Cuozzo (Norfolk, MA) to take a commanding 3-0 advantage. Nazareth came back in the second half on goals by Rosie Simiele (Syracuse, NY) and Kristina Cristofori (Fairport, NY) to trim the lead to 3-2. Mariani added her second goal of the game and 14th of the season just 42 seconds after Cristofori scored to enable the Dutchwomen to regain a two-goal advantage. Nazareth had an 18-15 edge in shots. Nazareth goalie Shannon Burns (Albany, NY) made nine saves. Julie Gawronski (Dunkirk, NY) had seven saves for Union.
