The Panthers won by scores of 30-21, 30-19 and 30-24. The Dutchwomen fell to 3-14 on the season.
Sophomore outside hitter Lexie Fisher (San Francisco, CA/Lick-Wilmerding) led Middlebury with 11 kills, while freshman outside hitter Lindsay Patterson (Aspen, CO/Aspen) had 13 digs. Junior setter Lacee Patterson (Aspen, CO/Aspen) dished out 33 assists and middle hitter Jackie Edwards (Colelge Prep. School/Oakland, CA) had two solo blocks and three block assists.
Union was paced by senior outside hitter Charelle Carter (Schenectady, NY/ND-BG) with 10 kills, and sophomore defensive specialist Danna De Blasio (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) had 18 digs. Senior setter Suzy Barbaritz (Clarence, NY/Clarence) finished with 22 assists while freshman middle hitter Erin Schumaker (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs) added seven kills.
Union will compete this weekend (October 1-2) at the Oneonta Invitational.
