Union ties Hobart in men's soccer, 0-0

GENEVA, NY— Hobart College and Union College played to a 0-0 double-overtime tie in Liberty League men's soccer action today on McCooey Field. With the tie the Statesmen secure second place in the Liberty League, behind Hamilton College who squeaked out the top spot. Hobart now stands at 12-2-2 overall and 5-0-2 in league play, while the Dutchmen are 8-4-3 and 2-3-2 in the conference. Union finished fifth in the league.

In 110 minutes of back-and-forth action, neither team was able to connect on multiple opportunities. Hobart out-shot Union 28-11, but the Dutchmen defense held strong and would not allow a score.
 
Sophomore goalkeeper Pete Van Dellon tallied eight saves for the Statesmen en route to his sixth shutout of the season, while Rob Kramer (Staples/Westport, CT) stopped nine shots for the Dutchmen.

Union will host Utica on October 25 at 7 p.m. for the final home game of the regular season.
