Box Score WORCESTER, MA -- Led by a goal and an assist by sophomore midfielder Sara Wilson (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Regional), the Union women's soccer team posted a 4-1 triumph at Clark Tuesday night. The Dutchwomen improved to 2-2-1 on the young season.
Wilson scored the first goal of the contest late in the first half (at 43:43), and later assisted on Union's third goal by senior Stephanie Cronan (Marblehead, MA/Marblehead) at 75:08. Other goal scorers for the Dutchwomen were sophomore Chelsea Hargis (East Lyme, CT/East Lyme) and senior Jenna Ondash (New Canaan, CT/New Canaan). Hargis scored at 48:39 and after Amanda Ramos pulled Clark to within one at 54:20, Cronan (75:08) and Ondash (82:18) put it away.
The Dutchwomen also got assists from Allison Cuozzo (Norfolk, MA/King Philip Regional) and freshman Jessica Dolbeare (Lynnfield, MA/Lynnfield).
Kaitlin Graham (Orchard Park, NY/Orchard Park) made one save in over 84 minutes of work in the nets for the Dutchwomen, while Melissa McDonald (Lynnfield, MA/Phillips Academy) finished up in goal and was not called upon to make a save. Union outshot the hosts, 16-5, including 9-1 in the second half, and had 13 corners while Clark did not have a corner on the evening. Thea Link stopped six shots for Clark.
Union now will play four straight home games beginning Friday, with a 4 p.m. contest against Clarkson to open Liberty League play. The Dutchwomen will host St. Lawrence in a league game Saturday at 2 p.m.
