ONEONTA, NY -- The Union women's volleyball team posted the first win of the 2006 season with a three game sweep over Utica Friday night in the Holiday Inn/Red Dragon Invitational hosted by SUNY Oneonta.

The Dutchwomen won by scores of 30-18, 30-27 and 30-22.

Freshman setter Lauren Lesce (Rochester, NY/Pittsford-Sutherland) had 29 assists to lead the Dutchwomen, giving her 67 assists in the two matches on the day for Union (1-1).

Play continues in the 14-team tournament through Saturday. The Dutchwomen face Clarkson at 9 a.m. and the Rochester Institute of Technology at 1 p.m.
