ONEONTA, NY – Danna DiBlasio (Schenectady, NY/Schalmont) recorded 15 digs to lead Union to a three-game volleyball sweep over Mount St. Mary Friday at the Oneonta Invitational. The Dutchwomen won by scores of 30-20, 30-21 and 30-20. Union later lost to Ithaca in three games, 30-16, 30-17 and 30-22.

In the earlier victory, three-time Liberty League Co-Rookie of the Week Lauren Lesce (Rochester, NY/Pittsford-Sutherland) had 28 assists for the Dutchwomen. Middle hitter Mary Volcko (Skaneateles, NY/Skaneateles) added eight kills in the victory.

Lesce had 25 assists in the match against Ithaca, while DiBlasio finished with 16 digs. Erin Schumaker (Saratoga Springs, NY/Saratoga Springs), who had received NYSWCAA Defensive Player of the Week honors earlier in the week, had seven kills for the Dutchwomen.

Union takes on Fredonia Saturday at 11:30 a.m. and Skidmore at 3:30 p.m. in the second day of the Oneonta Invitational.
