WILLIAMSTOWN, MA -- The Union women's volleyball team lost a four game match at Williams Tuesday night, to fall to 9-4 on the year. Williams won by scores of 30-22, 30-28, 24-30 and 30-15.
Union was led by this week's Liberty League Performer of the Week, Rachel Ormsby (Charlton, NY). The junior middle hitter had 13 kills and six blocks. Junior middle hitter Erin Schumaker (Saratoga Springs, NY) also had six blocks along with 10 kills. Sophomore defensive specialist Veronica Mynders (Port Jervis, NY) posted 29 digs and sophomore outside hitter Jennifer Merinder (Andover, MA) recorded 32 assists.
Despite the loss, Union has won nine of the first 13 games for the first time since the 1989 season.
The Dutchwomen compete Saturday at Clarkson with Hamilton.
