SCHENECTADY, NY – The Union college women's ice hockey experienced a 4-0 setback at the hands of Yale on Friday at Messa Rink. Senior goaltender

Kate Gallagher (Minneapolis, MN) combined for 35 saves. Union goes to 0-8-1, while Yale improves to 1-1-0.
Yale was led by a pair of goals by senior forward Crysti Howser (Wilmette, IL) and sophomore forward Bray Ketchum (Greenwich, CT). Ketchum finished the day with a game-high four points, while Howser registered four.
Howser scored Yale's first two markers of the game 12 seconds into the first period and 41 seconds into the second. Ketchum assisted on both and freshman forward Aleca Hughes (Westwood, MA) added a helper on the second goal.
Ketchum tallied her goals with 3:01 into the second and 15:18 into the third. Howser and Hughes assisted on the first and junior defender Alyssa Clarke (Donkin, NS) assisted the second.
Union's best opportunity came late in the third period when freshman forward
Adelle Calahan (Skokie, IL) raced into the offensive end and first a shot towards the goal. Union's leading goal scorer
Jackie Koetteritz (Breckenridge, CO) found the puck in front and first, leaving a rebound in the slot for freshman forward
Kim Kowalczyk (Bartlett, IL), who was robbed by Yale freshman keeper Genny Ladiges (Almonte, ONT).
Ladiges finished with 12 saves, while Day posted 29 in 55:18 of action. Gallagher logged 4:42 and made six saves.
Union returns to action on Saturday when Brown skates into Messa Rink at 3 p.m.
