SCHENECTADY, NY – The Union College men's soccer team concluded its regular season with a thrilling 1-0 double-overtime victory on Saturday against SUNY Oswego at College Park Field. The Dutchmen improve their record to 11-3-3, while Oswego drops to 8-9-0.
Freshman forward
Marc Zeyak (Valatie, NY) provided the late-game heroics for his third goal of the season. Sophomore defender
Nicky Hoberman (Westport, CT) sent a far-corner crass into the box where Zeyak sent in the game-winner with six minutes remaining in the game.
Senior goalkeeper
Rob Kramer (Westport, CT) tallied his fifth shutout of the season and his tenth win by making two saves.
As the other end sophomore Matt Wopperer (Manlius, NY) turned away eight shots.
Union held a 14-2 advantage in shots and a 9-0 lead in corner kicks.
The Dutchmen travel to face first-place Hobart in the semifinals of the 2008 Liberty League Championship on Friday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m.
