SCHENECTADY, NY – Junior forward Michelle Rogers (Clarence, NY) scored 16 points and sophomore guard Rachel Titcomb (Henniker, NH) pulled down a career high 11 rebounds as Union closed out the home regular season with a 63-42 win over Vassar Saturday at the Viniar Athletic Center. The Dutchwomen improved to 13-9 overall and 7-5 in Liberty League play, while the Brewers fell to 4-15 and 0-11 in the league.

 

Rogers also had five steals and Titcomb had seven of her boards on the offensive end. Union's lone senior, guard Devon Ciliberto (New Paltz, NY), was honored prior to her last regular season home contest.

 

Sophomore forward Emily Haeuser (South Portland, ME) led the Brewers with game highs of 20 points and 12 rebounds. Senior guard Elise Okusami (Olney, MD) added seven points, making all four of her free throw attempts.

 

Union had a 30-22 halftime lead, and Vassar was down eight at 41-33 with 12:36 remaining in the second stanza after a jumper by Hauser. But Union then went on a 18-4 run in the next 10:05 for a 22 point advantage, 59-37. Rogers had six points during the run. It was the largest lead for the day.

 

Union had a 45-31 rebounding edge and outscored the Brewers in the paint, 42-16. The Dutchwomen forced 35 turnovers, the most by any opponent. Lucia Reed (Braintree, MA) added seven points for the Dutchwomen, who shot 37% to Vassar's 34%.

 

Union is at league leader William Smith next Friday, February 22, while Vassar hosts RPI Tuesday night.
