Men's Soccer Victorious At Southern Vermont

BENNINGTON, VT – Junior forward Jack Scott (Huntington, NY) paced the Dutchmen to a 3-1 victory at Southern Vermont on Tuesday. Scott tallied a goal and an assist to help Union improve to 4-1-1. The Mountianeers go to 2-5-0.
 
Junior midfielder Ryan Benagan (Albany, NY) produced the game's first marker and his first goal of the season at 18:09 when he was set up by Scott.
 
Scott got his name on the score sheet again at the opposite end of the game, when scored his team-high third goal and eighth point of the season at 75:00. Freshman midfielder Teddy Steen (Worcester, MA) had the game-winner sandwiched between Benagan and Scott's goals. His unassisted goal came at 41:34.
 
Senior goalkeeper Rob Kramer (Westport, CT) made one save and Union's defense gave away zero corner kicks.
 
The Dutchmen unloaded 36 shots, including 13 on goal. They also took 17 corners.
 
Union returns to the pitch when it hosts Vassar at College Park on Friday, Sept. 26 at 4 p.m. The contest is the Dutchmen's first Liberty League outing.
