SCHENECTADY, NY -- Sophomore midfielder
Taylor Bresnahan scored in the second overtime to give Union College a 2-1 double overtime victory over St. Lawrence in a Liberty League women's soccer game Saturday at College Park Field.
Bresnahan's winner came at 119:55 to the right of the keeper to lift the Dutchwomen to a 3-1 Liberty League record and an 11-2 overall mark. The Saints fell to 1-3 in the league and 7-6 overall.
Elena Rogers opened the scoring for the Saints when her long chip over the keeper from 30 yards out found the back of the net at 24:14. The tally was assisted by Erika Gobeille. Union tied it when
Jennifer Mansfield notched her 10th of the year at 55:03. Her unassisted goal was also high over the goalkeeper.
Union had a 17-11 shot advantage on the day and St. Lawrence goalkeeper Abby van Geldern made eight saves. Union's
Abby Stohler stopped two in the Dutchwomen nets. Union had an 8-4 advantage in corners.
The Dutchwomen return to action on October 16 when they host league rival Skidmore at College Park at 1 p.m. during Homecoming Weekend.
