ONEONTA, NY- The Union volleyball team faced off against non-conference opponent Oneonta on Tuesday night and lost 3-0 (18-25, 19-25, 24-26) to the Red Dragons.
Oneonta seized control of the opening set, jumping out to a 12-3 lead en route to the 25-18 win. In the second set, the Dutchwomen led 6-4 but the Red Dragons scored 14 of the next 19 points to take control of that set, which they closed out at 25-19.
The third set was a battle as Oneonta fell behind early before coming back to take its first lead at 15-14. The Red Dragons increased its lead to 19-14 before Union stormed back with six unanswered points to take a 20-19 lead. After an Oneonta timeout, the Red Dragons out-dueled the Dutchwomen to end the match.
Union was led by freshman Casey Tepper, who had eight kills. Senior Bridget Little had five blocks while classmate Erika Van Valkenburg had 23 digs.
