GENEVA, NY -- Kristen Kush scored 14 points and Molly Danahy added 13 to lift William Smith to a 60-53 Liberty League home victory over Union Friday night at Bristol Gym. The Herons came back from a 10 point deficit to win for the second time in league play (2-6) while improving to 6-12 overall. Union fell to 4-5 in the league and 6-13 for the season.

Ashlinn Barber had a team high nine rebounds and scored 12 points for the Herons, who outscored the Dutchwomen, 43-20 in the second half. William Smith shot 36% and won despite getting outrebounded, 50-32 on the night.

Union tri-captain Rachel Titcomb pulled down 13 rebounds, a game and career high for the senior. Megan Clark had eight boards and scored 12 points while Lauren McCormick led all Dutchwomen with 15 points. Rachel Beaulac scored 10 for the game.

Union had a 30-20 lead at halftime, A three pointer by Lindsay Hage made it a 12 point lead at 36-24 with 17:16 left in the second half. But a layup by Sydni Salvatore completed a 12-0 run in a span of 4:34. The Dutchwomen had one more lead after a three pointer by Beaulac made it 49-48 with 3:46 left in the second. But the Herons took the lead for good on a layup by Danahy with 3:19 left for a 50-49 advantage. The Herons made five free throws in the final 22 seconds to seal the victory.

Union looks to snap a four game losing streak Saturday at Hamilton at 2 p.m.
