GENEVA, NY -- Kristen Kush scored 14 points and Molly Danahy added 13 to lift William Smith to a 60-53 Liberty League home victory over Union Friday night at Bristol Gym. The Herons came back from a 10 point deficit to win for the second time in league play (2-6) while improving to 6-12 overall. Union fell to 4-5 in the league and 6-13 for the season.
Ashlinn Barber had a team high nine rebounds and scored 12 points for the Herons, who outscored the Dutchwomen, 43-20 in the second half. William Smith shot 36% and won despite getting outrebounded, 50-32 on the night.

Megan Clark had eight boards and scored 12 points while
Lauren McCormick led all Dutchwomen with 15 points.

Union had a 30-20 lead at halftime, A three pointer by
Lindsay Hage made it a 12 point lead at 36-24 with 17:16 left in the second half. But a layup by Sydni Salvatore completed a 12-0 run in a span of 4:34. The Dutchwomen had one more lead after a three pointer by Beaulac made it 49-48 with 3:46 left in the second. But the Herons took the lead for good on a layup by Danahy with 3:19 left for a 50-49 advantage. The Herons made five free throws in the final 22 seconds to seal the victory.
