ONEONTA, NY --
A ninth-inning comeback by the Union College baseball team came up short as the Dutchmen lost, 8-5, at Oneonta State on Wednesday evening. Sophomore designated hitter Kevin Dexter produced a multi-hit game, going 2-for-4, and freshman third baseman Emmanuel Fabre registered a team-high two RBIs.

After falling behind 2-0 after the first inning, Union evened things up in the top of the second when Fabre singled to centerfield to score freshman right fielder Tyler Heck and freshman first baseman Dom Calistro.

The Red Dragon's established a 8-3 lead through eight innings and the Dutchmen began its attempt at a comeback in the ninth inning. Junior Dane Flavin crossed home on a routine ground out and junior centerfielder Jarid Hotaling scored on a two-out double by sophomore Anthony Cassese.

At the end of the day, Union produced eight hits to Oneonta's 11. Ultimately, the Red Dragon's took advantage of six unearned runs.
