SCHENECTADY, NY – Eleven Union College men's lacrosse players found the back of the net as the Dutchmen rolled to a 16-2 victory against Clarkson (3-11, 2-3) to improve to 3-1 in Liberty League play and 10-2 overall. Freshman Robert Young led all goal scorers with a career-high three goals.

 

Freshman Peter Griesinger also registered three points with two goals and an assist. Senior Christopher Jacobson, who was honored with the rest of the senior class prior to faceoff, joined freshman Alex Stone with a pair of goals. Other Dutchmen goal scorers included senior Andrew Higgins, freshman Joe Cordrey, freshman Kyle Christine, junior Sam Kenyon, sophomore Will Mahony, freshman Mike Jacobs and freshman Nolan Connors#.

 

Union employed three netminders and sophomore Sean Aaron improved on his nation-leading save percentage, turning away both shots he faced in just over 34 minutes of action. He was credited with the win – his 10th of the season. Sophomore Jon Goldberg made two saves in just under 20 minutes of action and freshman Eric Spector made two stops in just under six minutes of play.

 

The Dutchmen controlled the game from start to finish, outshooting the Golden Knights, 48-19, and winning the groundball battle, 43-39.

 

Union's special teams stood strong as well, going 1-for-3 with the man advantage and killing off all seven man-down situations. The Dutchmen even registered a goal while playing short handed.
