Peter Mugford went 4-for-5 at the plate, driving in two runs, but the Union College baseball team lost at SUNY Cobleskill, 10-5, on Tuesday evening. WIth the setback Union goes to 9-28 on the year, while Cobleskill improves to 10-22.
Mugford fell a double short of hitting for the cycle. He registered an RBI triple in the first, a solo homer in the third and singles in the sixth and seventh inning.
Freshman centerfielder Taylor Heck also excelled in the batters box with a 3-for-5 performance and two runs scored. He scored on Mugford's triple in the first and crossed home on a sacrifice fly by freshman leftfielder

Leading 6-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Fighting Tigers capitalized on a pair of Dutchmen errors, two wild pitches and a passed ball to score four unearned runs and seal the victory. Sophomore Andre Murray had a two-out, RBI triple for Cobleskill. Murray finished the day 2-for-5 for the home team with a pair of runs scored and a RBI.

Colin McKelligan earned the loss despite throwing five full innings, striking out nine and allowing two earned runs. Freshman
Drew Amboian supplied two innings of relief with four strikeouts before freshman
Cody Portin threw the final inning.
The Dutchmen return to action on Wednesday, May 5 against Utica at 4 p.m. at Central Park.
