In May, Bielak graduated from St. John Fisher College where he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in communications/journalism with a minor in philosophy. The Syracuse native worked three years as a student assistant in the college's sports information office.

Bielak had worked all of Fisher's 14 varsity sports and has traveled with the college's softball and baseball teams for spring break tournaments in Arizona and Florida.
