SCHENECTADY, N.Y.— Senior forward Marc Zeyek scored for Union, but a pair of second-half goals carried the Skidmore College men's soccer team to a 2-1 Liberty League road win over men's soccer on Senior Day at College Park.
With the win, the Thoroughbreds finish fifth in the Liberty League with a 3-4-1 league and 7-10-1 overall record, while Dutchmen finish seventh at 2-5-1 and 11-5-1.
After a scoreless first half, Skidmore's Gordon Bray headed one past Union keeper
Adam Margulies off a Marcus Goldbas set piece from just inside the corner flag for a 1-0 Skidmore lead at 50:23.
Skidmore's Diego Reinero made it 2-0, when he one-time a pass from Brock Bakewell just inside the 18-yard box at 64:40.
Union's Marc Zeyek scored less than a minute later with a low shot inside the near post in the 66th minute, but the Thoroughbreds shut the Dutchmen down the rest of the way for the hard-earned win.
