CLERMONT, FL -- Colby College women's lacrosse player Claire Donegan scored three goals and dished out three assists in a 17-11 win against Union College on Tuesday in Florida.
The sixth-ranked Mules improved to 5-0 overall while Union falls to 1-2 overall. The Dutchwomen face #7 Trinity in Clermont Thursday while the Mules face Trinity Saturday.
Kate Pistel finished with three goals, one assist, and a game-high five draw controls. Hilary Barr added three goals and two draw controls, and Anne Geraghty and Katie Griffin both had two goals. Tess Petesch, Katharine Eddy, Casey Thomas, and Lindsey McKenna all had single goals.
Chelsea Charette led the Dutchwomen with four goals while
Heather Fraser and
Abby Stohler each added two goals and an assist.
Kristin Joyce assisted on two goals and scored one of her own while
Brittany Fraser and
Kelly Flanagan tallied one goal each.
Union led 5-4 in the opening half before Colby scored four goals in the final 4:30 to take an 8-5 margin at the break. Union got as close as 12-11 in the second half before Colby closed the door with five straight goals.
