ANNADALE-ON-HUDSON, NY - Union was able to defeat Bard in straight sets but fall to RIT in four sets at Bard Saturday afternoon.
In the match against Bard, the Dutchwomen won in three sets taking the first and third sets in convincing fashion 25-16 and 25-10 respectively. The second set the Raptors made is close but Union edged out a 26-24 set.
Offensively,
Rachel Wyman led the way with 14 kills and three service aces.
Rajpreet Dhaliwal and
Kelley White pitched in with eight and seven kills respectively.
Mackenzie Westfall dished out 33 assists in the sweep while
Marissa Vollmer converted 11 digs.
In that match for Bard, Mai Aurell-Foulser
had six kills and five digs, Cara Chalk had five kills and four digs, Lexi Cooper had 19 assists, and Ruth Lakew
contributed three kills and six digs.
Against RIT, the Tigers won the first two sets by identical 25-21 scores, before the Dutchwomen took set three 25-23. RIT won the fourth set by a 25-23 tally.
Cooper recorded 16 kills and 11 digs, while Amanda White hit .368 with 11 kills and a pair of blocks. Worth dished out 43 assists to go along with 11 digs. Sullivan slammed 10 kills, while Davis had 23 digs for the second straight match. Taylor Harkness recorded four blocks in just two sets.
Rachel Wyman and
Kelley White paced the Dutchwomen on offense with 11 kills each.
Mackenzie Westfall served up 30 assists while
Marissa Vollmer had 28 digs in the match.
The Dutchwomen have four games remaining on the season. Union (16-11, 3-4) will play Skidmore next on October 16 beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Saratoga Springs, NY.
