SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY -- Melvis Langyintuo scored a game high 21 points for the Skidmore men's basketball team in a 75-63 Liberty League win over visiting Union at the Williamson Center Saturday.
The Thoroughbreds end the regular season with a 17-8 overall record and were 11-5 in league play. Union is 16-9 and finished 9-7. Both teams are heading to next week's playoffs with quarterfinal games Semifinal games Wednesday at 7 p.m. #4 seed Union will play at #1 Hobart and #3 St. Lawrence will travel to #2 Skidmore.
Gerard O'She scored 12 with four assists and Brian Lowry added 10 for Skidmore, which shot 45% for the night. The Skidmore bench outscored the Dutchmen reserves, 20-9.
Keven Donohue had his second straight double double and his sixth this season with 10 points and a game best 11 rebounds.
Rusmir Dzanko scored 16 points and
Evan Croll and
Joe Mason added 11 each with Mason dishing out five assists. Union outrebounded Skidmore, 38-32, and shot 44% for the game.
Skidmore led by five at 28-23 at halftime, and Union had won seven of the last eight games, all in league play.
In head to head play this season, Union was 0-2 vs. Hobart, but lost one a final second jumper, 62-60 at home. Earlier in the season, the Statesmen prevailed, 83-61.
