SCHENECTADY, NY – Sophomore attack
Rob Santangelo scored twice including the game-winning goal with 3:19 to play to help No. 12 Union men's lacrosse (6-1, 1-0 Liberty League) earn a 7-6 win over St. Lawrence (6-1, 1-1 Liberty League) in its first Liberty League contest of the season at Frank Bailey Field.

Sean Aaron made six saves, including a stop in the closing seconds on St. Lawrence's Kyle Jacobson to preserve the victory for the Dutchmen.
Union outshot St. Lawrence 31-19 for the game, as St. Lawrence goalies Jeff Goeke and Jack Nuland combined to make 14 stops in net for the Saints.
With the game tied at 6-6, Santangelo scored from close range with 3:19 to play to give Union the lead once again.
Union held a 4-3 lead entering the final quarter of play, which set up a frantic finish with two ties in the final 10:00. Union took a two goal lead with 11:54 to go in regulation on
Greg Mooney's fifth goal of the season.
The Saints rallied to tie the contest with two quick even strength goals. Tucker Garfield scored at 10:55 and Pierson Fowler added another goal at 9:09 to tie the game at 5-5.
Meyer responded for Union with 4:40 to play, beating Goeke on a rising shot to give the Dutchmen a 6-5 lead. But the Saints tied the game on their next possession, as Jacobson struck at 4:08 for his team-leading 12
th goal of the season to even the game before Santangelo's game-winner helped Union earn the win.

Brad Woodruff scored his first career goal at 4:39 of the first quarter and senior attack
Ted McKenna added his team-leading 14
th goal of the season with :14 to play in the opening frame. Santangelo scored with 12:10 to go in the second quarter.
The Saints cut the Union lead to 3-2 at the half on goals from Jacobson (8:45) and Mac Johnson (4:12).
Union will continue Liberty League play at Clarkson on April 7 at 1:00 p.m. in Potsdam, NY in its next contest.
