SCHENECTADY, NY -- Senior forward Caroline Moran scored three goals, including the game winner in overtime, to lift the Union College field hockey team to a 4-3 victory over Worcester Polytechnic Institute Saturday afternoon at Frank Bailey Field.

Moran's goal at 6:24 of overtime gave Union Head Coach Kelly Harchetts her first career victory. Moran took a lead pass from Allison Troy and tucked in a shot inside the right post of a diving goaltender Lauren Puishys to give the Dutchwomen (1-1) a win in their home opener. The Engineers are now 1-2 on the young season.

Union had a 29-18 shot advantage in the game, and also had 18 corners to WPI's 14. Beth Crowe scored the other goal for the Dutchwomen while Stephanie Symecko, Megan Read and Grace Davis scored for WPI.

Moran then took over with the next two goals. With 57:09 to play, she got Hannah Najar's pass off the corner and then with 49:56 to play in regulation, a give and go with Flake produced a 3-2 Union lead.
