CLERMONT, FL -- Wisconsin-Whitewater improved to 11-0 with a 9-3 win over Union College in early morning softball action Thursday in Florida. The Dtuchwomen lost to St. Olaf later in the day, 3-0, and stand 3-8 entering Friday.
In the opener, Union was held to eight hits, with
Samantha Chevalier and
Aimee Palleschi recording two hits each. Whitewater produced 12 hits in the contest and
Alyssa Wolejko took the loss for Union.
In the nightcap, Union had four hits while
Allyson Staats took the loss depsite a strong six inning performance. She did not walk a batter, struck out six and allowed seven hits without an earned run.
Union will close out the Florida portion of the schedule Friday. The Dutchwomen face Luther for a doubleheader beginning at 9:30 a.m.
The Dutchwomen open the home season at Alexander Field on April 4 with a home twinbill vs. Middlebury at 3:30 p.m.
