Nolan Connors recorded four goals and three assists, junior attack
Rob Santangelo had a goal and two assists, and senior midfielder
Alex Stone went 14-for-21 in the faceoff circle with seven ground balls to lead Union men's lacrosse (5-3) to a 11-8 win over Keene State.
Keene State's Ian Hart had a goal and four assists and Taylor Wicke added two goals and an assist to lead the Owls, who fell to 6-2 on the year.
Union goaltender
Stefan Basile made 14 saves, while Jack Rogers (10 saves) and Alex Sharp (4 saves) combined for 14 stops.
Union ran out to a 5-0 lead in the first quarter, as Connors had two goals and an assist in the opening 15 minutes to lead the Dutchmen attack.
Union opened the scoring by capitalizing on a Keene State turnover behind the Union net. Junior
Nolan Connors intercepted a pass and fed Santangelo alone in front. Santangelo finished with a low scoop shot to put the Dutchmen ahead at 11:01.
Connors scored at 5:21 on a dive in front of the circle, and after goals by
Greg Mooney (man-up) and
Jake Quinn, added another goal with :32 remaining in the period to give Dutchmen a five goal lead.
Wicke scored from long range at 13:46 in the second quarter to end the run, but Union's
Richard Gregory and
Alex D'Amario scored 26 seconds apart later in the frame. Gregory scored at 8:40 off a fast break, and D'Amario scored his first career goal at 8:14 on a nice feed from Connors.
Keene State's JT Galloway scored just seven seconds later, and Taylor Jette added a goal with 1:46 to go in the half to make it 7-3 at the break.
Union opened up the second half with three quick goals from junior attack

But the Owls answered with four straight goals late in the third and early in the fourth quarter to make it a game. Wicke scored on man-up opportunity with 6:52 left in the third quarter, and Galloway added another goal as the trailer on a fast break at 1:10 to make it 10-5 heading into the fourth quarter.
Keene State's Ryan Hart scored on a turnaround shot at 14:07 of the fourth quarter, and added another goal at 13:35 with a shot on the move in front of the net to make it 10-7. But the Union defense held steady, and Connors added his fourth of the game at 6:48 to put the Dutchmen ahead by four goals late.
Ian Hart would add a goal for Keene State with 3:19 to go, but the Owls would get no closer.
Union will return to Liberty League play on Saturday with a 5:00 p.m. contest against Clarkson at Frank Bailey Field.
