ROCHESTER, NY -- Junior outfielder Rebecca Allen hit a walk off single to left in the bottom of the eighth to lift St. Lawrence University to a 1-0 win over Union College in the 2013 Liberty League Softball Championship Tournament at the University of Rochester's Southside Field Saturday morning.
The Saints improved to 22-16 while the Dutchwomen finish their season with a record of 16-25. St. Lawrence advances in the tournament and plays later today vs. the loser of the mid afternoon game between RPI and Rochester.
With two out in the bottom of the eight, Chelsea Cavellier singled to center. She went to second on a single down the left field line by Elizabeth McGinley. Allen then singled just over third base and Cavellier came home with the lone and winning run.

Union had runners at first and second in both the second and sixth with two outs, but Plimpton got out of those situations. Union's first and lone hit came with a leadoff single to center by
Allyson Staats, the tough luck pitching loser.
Staats gave up nine hits and did not walk a batter while striking out five. Union's
