Albany, NY – The Sage Colleges' men's soccer team hosted Union College on Tuesday evening at the Plumeri Sports Complex. A late game goal by Union's senior forward Dean Constant broke a 1-1 tie and kept the Dutchmen unbeaten as they triumphed 2-1. With the victory, Union improves to 5-0-1, while Sage falls to Sage 2-3-1.
Sage took a 1-0 lead as freshman forward Elhadj Kourouma connected for his first collegiate score on a feed from junior midfielder Gustavo Trinidad at 34:30. Trinidad, who already holds Sage's career assist mark and now has 16 on his career and has two this fall.
Union would tie the action up at sophomore Jeff Cohen converted the cross from the left side on the corner kick by junior Kevin Janson at the 75:21.
With less than five minutes remaining in regulation, senior forward Dean Constant picked up his second goal of the season at 85:39 mark on a feed off the corner kick by sophomore Carl Faber.
Sage's senior keeper Tim Madden recorded six saves on the night but took the loss, while Union's junior goalie Ryan Carter made four saves in earning the win in goal for the Dutchmen.
The Dutchmen are back in action on September 21 when they travel to SUNY-Canton for a noon non-conference match.
