Dutchwomen Lose at St. Lawrence, 1-0

CANTON, N.Y. – Union sustained its first league loss of the season, dropping a 1-0 decision to St. Lawrence on the road.  Union continues its road trip through the North Country with a 2:00 p.m. contest tomorrow at Clarkson.

St. Lawrence (7-3-0, 1-1-0 LL) scored prior to halftime when Kaleigh White settled a cross from Hannah Merriam, and buried a shot from the top of the box in the 35th minute.  Union (7-2-1, 1-1-1 LL) applied pressure in the second half – finishing with a 5-4 edge in shots on goal – but couldn't find the equalizer, resulting in the team's second shutout loss this season.  It was also just Union's second defeat to St. Lawrence in the last 22 meetings, dating to the 1995 season.

Senior Breana Derella, making her 26th straight start, played the entire 90 minutes for the 25th-ranked Dutchwomen, who were playing their second road game in a month.
