ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Talk about a debut.
Freshman midfielder
Emily Dahlstrom came off the bench to score the game-winner in Union's 2-0 victory over Eastern Nazarene at the Flower City Classic.
Dahlstrom entered in the 66th minute, and scored on her first career shot seven minutes later off an assist from
Mollie Gilchrist. Union struck again at the 85:25 mark. ENC goalkeeper Kristen Farley stopped a shot from
Allie Supranowicz, but couldn't control the rebound, which landed near the foot of
Whitney Bickford, who buried her 15th career goal. Supranowicz, starting her first career game, received credit for the assist.
Goalkeeper
Allison Brustowicz needed just two saves to record her eighth career shutout. The Lions, who were meeting Union for the first time ever, managed six shots total. Union finished with 17.
The "U" earned three points for the win, and will attempt to capture the Flower City Classic title tomorrow, squaring off against SUNY Fredonia at 11:00 a.m. in Fauver Stadium on the University of Rochester campus.
