WILKES-BARRE, PA -- Emma Dempsey scored at 82:48 to give SUNY Geneseo a 3-2 overtime field hockey victory over Union at the Wilkes College tournament Saturday afternoon. The Knights are now 1-1 while the Dutchwomen fell to 0-2.

Sara Malinak assisted on the game winning goal. Union had forced the overtime at 57:55 when Alexa Steriti scored on a penalty stroke at 57:55.

Cara Stafford scored two goals for Geneseo. She scored at 38:52 and Union tied it on Allison Troy's tip in from a Steriti shot at 43:25. Malniak assited on Stafford's score at 51:15 for a 2-1 Geneseo lead. Laura Aptowitz made nine saves for the Dutchwomen while Dayna Mercer stopped two shots for Geneseo. The Knights had a 17-13 shot advantage and Union had 11 penalty corners to the Knights seven.

Union is back in action Wednesday for another non-league game at Ramapo at 4 p.m.
