SCHENECTADY, N.Y. - The Dutchwomen concluded their home invitational with a win over Saint Michael's College in the first game of the day before falling to Nazareth College in the final match of the tournament. Sophomore
Kat Moeller continued her strong 2014 play and was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Moeller set a new career high with 37 digs in the 25-20, 28-30, 25-17, 25-16 win over the Purple Knights. Moeller was one of five Union members to register 10 or more digs in the match.
Rachel Wyman recorded 12 kills to led a trio of Dutchwomen to reach double-digit kills as
Kelley White and
Rajpreet Dhaliwal notched 11 kills each to carry the Union attack.
Amanda Price dished out a team high 28 assists and freshmen
Abigail Salamone handed 19 more for the Dutchwomen.
Union was able to win the first set against the Golden Flashes 25-21 in the second match of the day. However, Nazareth defeated the Dutchwomen in the next three sets 25-18, 25-18, 25-21 to come away with the victory.
White and
Morgan Clark picked up seven kills a piece to lead Union. White also added a team-high 16 digs.
The Dutchwomen return to the court Tuesday night in a non-conference matchup at Middlebury College.
